On June 13, 2025, a new era began. For the first time in the history of Baldur’s Gate 3, a full-scale PvP championship was launched - the Vludber’s Faerûn Championship.

Season 1 was not just a series of matches, but the very foundation of a multi-season competition where the best players clash again and again, writing the living history of competitive BG3.

Format and Spirit of Competition

VFC is a test of skill, strategy, and resilience. Season 1 gathered 64 participants (with a few substitutions), and the Double Elimination format meant there was no room for mistakes.

  • Matches were played best of 3, with the Grand Final extending to best of 5.

  • 10 redesigned arenas based on iconic BG3 locations became the battlegrounds.

  • The rules emphasized Valor: no stalling, no endless kiting - only honest, spectacular duels worthy of an audience.

Prize Pool and Standings

💰 100,000 RUB added extra heat to every match:

  • 🥇 BillGilberts - Champion of Season 1, claiming 70,000 RUB.

  • 🥈 Daemonito - a fierce rival who stopped just short of victory, rewarded with 20,000 RUB.

  • 🥉 whatisup - securing third place and 10,000 RUB with a style that impressed viewers.

These names became the first etched into the Hall of Fame of VFC.

How the Battles Unfolded

Each duel was unique, escalating in power with every round:

  • Fight 1 - Level 4, green items only.

  • Fight 2 - Level 8, green and blue items.

  • Fight 3 - Level 12, full vanilla item pool.

The Grand Final pushed the limits further, with up to 5 duels played at maximum level. Every match was capped at 12 rounds; if both players survived, the decision went to the judges - Vludber, the match host, and the Twitch audience - with priority given to the player who fought with more courage and showmanship.

Arenas and Tactics

Battles took place on 10 improved arenas, reimagined for PvP: from the eerie Underdark Camp to the fiery Grimforge Lava Lake.

Before each match, players received the list of arenas eligible for their duel, allowing them to adapt builds and equipment in advance. The specific battlefield was then chosen randomly, keeping strategy and preparation balanced with suspense.

Results and Legacy

Season 1 of VFC proved that Baldur’s Gate 3 could be more than a cooperative adventure - it could be the stage for true competitive play.

It brought:

  • the first champions and unforgettable matches,

  • the foundations of a ranking system,

  • a milestone for the future of BG3 PvP.

Season 1 concluded on July 20, 2025, but it marked only the beginning of the story. The Vludber’s Faerûn Championship has already become a symbol of fair competition, passion, and strategy - and the legend is just getting started.
